NYC: Gaggenau presents the Boisset Family Estate wines.



NYC: Gaggenau presents the Boisset Family Estate wines. A dinner, wine tasting and cooking demonstration was held in the Gaggenau pop-up store to present the Boisset Family Estate wines.
Above: The cooking demonstration given by Chef Michel Cornu, who is director of cuisine and hospitality at the Boisset Family Estates in the Napa Valley. His goal is to create beautiful food with expressive tastes and flavors using seasonal ingredients. For the demonstration he cooked, Vanilla Soup and Caramelized Pears with Gobi Almonds.

 
Gaggenau presents Raymond Vineyards.  For the cooking demonstration, chef Michel Cornu used a Gaggenau CX 491 full surface induction cooktop.  The cooktop functions are controlled via a large TFT touch display with a unique, easy-to-use display concept.


 
Gaggenau presents Raymond Vineyards.  Appetizers of Smoked Salmon and Quails Egg on Toasted Brioche were served with JCB N. 21 Brut Cremant, Burgundy, a radiant, mysterious and luminous wine.

Gaggenau presents Raymond Vineyards.  The Roasted Lobster with a Herb Crust, Fava Bean Puree, Morels and Sauce Americaine was matched with Raymond Vineyards, Raymond Reserve Chardonnay, Napa valley, 2009. The delicous dinner was catered by Feast and Fetes.

 
 Gaggenau presents Raymond Vineyards.  Gaggenau USA director Chris Kaeser presents architect Hendrick Muller founder of the award winning German architectural and design firm Eins:33.  Muller used rough euro pallets to create walls and supports for the high-end Gaggenau appliances in the loft like pop-up Gaggenau store in SoHo.

NYC: L’Ecole restaurant.


NYC: L’Ecole restaurant.  As the name suggests, L’Ecole restaurant is where students of The French Culinary Institute impress guests with their cooking on a daily basis.
Above: Chef Alain Sailhac enjoys a hamburger, yes, a hamburger in the bar in the restaurant. He is one of the deans of the school together with other famous culinary personalities; Jacques Pépin, André Soltner, David Kinch, Emily Luchetti, and Jacques Torres.

NYC: Tom Dixon – London Underground.



NYC: Tom Dixon – London Underground. Injecting a slice of London innovation into New York Design Week, London Underground in the basement of the Bleeker Street Theatre was Tom Dixon’s very first satellite show in the USA. 

 
Tom Dixon – London Underground. The underground space hosted a Luminosity installation, a 60’s Pop-inspired video broadcasting station from Surface magazine, an online pop-up shop from Fab.com and a pop-up Coffee House from Portland-based Stumptown Coffee Roasters.

 
Tom has a laugh and a drink at the party.


Tom Dixon – London Underground. Tom Dixon furnished and illuminated the darkened basement of the long lost theatre in the Noho District with the newest lamps. The London Underground space united the best of British eccentricity with classic New York cool.

NYC: RRL store Michael Scalisi's Follow Me book debut



NYC: RRL Ralph Lauren store – Michael Scalisi’s Follow Me book launch party.   Photographer Michael Scalisi book Follow Me was launched last night at Ralph Lauren’s RRL store in SoHo. After his road-trip photo book landed in the hands of a fashion executive, the Bruce Weber–mentored artist found himself with an exclusive venue to showcase his adventurous, all-American work. His self declared goal, “to travel and document as much road as finely and truthfully as possible.”

  
The RRL Ralph Lauren store in SoHo was the venue for the Follow Me book debut.


Alex Hitz founder of The Beverly Hills Kitchen and chef extraordinaire and Tiffany book author and man of extraordinary taste, John Loring.


Artist and photographer Ike Ude and the always elegant fashion muse and writer Amy Fine Collins.


The bar was set up behind the counter.

In true Western style, mini hamburgers in pork and beef were catered by The Meatball Shop.

NYC: Partners and Spade – Kid’s Chairs exhibition



NYC: Partners and Spade – Kid’s Chairs. A charming exhibition of Kid’s Chairs from the collection of Patrick Parrish, who operates the Mondo Cane furniture and design store, opened at Partners and Spade. The exhibition, in response to the MoMA's new exhibition, "Century of the Child", presents fifty examples of the form from the years 1890-1990. The Kid’s chairs are on view until June10.and for sale in the store and online.

Gourmet berries a la mode. Tasted in the Innovations showroom in the D & D building. Shari’s Berries’s, slogan the unforgettable gift, really lives up to its promise…in fact they have become the fashionable delicacies found at all the major events in New York. Flown in daily from California these chunky big flavorful, heavenly strawberries, as king size as one expects in America, are covered in chocolate; white, dark or milk and then drizzled with more chocolate of a contrasting color that melt in your mouth.

NYC: Marrakesh by Design book signing



NYC: Artistic Frame showroom - D & D Building – Marrakesh by Design book signing. At the beginning of New York’s Design Week, Artistic Frame, in the Decoration and Design Building, hosted the Marrakesh by Design book signing event. Marrakesh by Design – Decorating with the Colors, Patterns and Magic of Morocco by Maryam Montague of MyMarrakesh.com is published by Artisan. The eclectic and stylish author is known for her award winning blog, My Marrakesh, and also has made a career doing humanitarian work, as well as being a writer, a photographer, a hotelier, a shop owner in the olive groves of Marrakesh.

Darcy Woodall of Potterton Books.   Potterton Books's store is in the lobby of the D & D Building and is specialized in Fine and Decorative Arts, Design and Decoration.

Artistic Frame’s sales manager Joe Weldon sits in the Pope’s Chair custom-made especially for Pope Benedict’s visit to NYC. The chair is a reproduction of a Russian chair owned by the Czar and Czarina. Artistic Frame has been servicing the Interior Design trade since 1927, they design and manufacturer luxury bespoke furniture.


  Fashion Stylish and personal shopper, Stacey Mayesh assists her clients with their wardrobe, clothes shopping, and organizes their outfits and accessories.  She has dressed some of the brightest stars of the entertainment industry, such as Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba and Queen Latifah.

 
Marrakesh by Design. Another platter of Moroccan goodies included dates and dried fruits.


Chantal Bibi is creative director for Chantal Presents and Artistic Frame. She conceived the Moroccan décor for the Marrakesh by Design book signing event.


Vicky Cohen is president of Glocal Connection, which serves as a business platform that positions luxury products made with traditional art forms, by companies owned by indigenous women.

MILAN: Furniture Fair - Most - Spring Table


Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia: MOST - Spring Table. This was the most spectacular installation in the Sala del Cenacolo of the museum, created by Tom Dixon with Design Research Studio for the pop-up restaurant, Spring Table.  Dixon used his Stamp Chairs, made on site,in the museum as well as other pieces from his collection in the seventeenth century refectory hall, which is entirely decorated with stuccos and frescos by Pietro Gilardi thus creating an amazing fusion of contemporary design and baroque splendor.

 
MOST:  Trumpf. A digital industrial revolution was put in full view of visitors at MOST during Milan Design Week. In collaboration with international machine giant Trumpf, two sheet metal machines punched and bent Dixon’s exclusively designed Stamp Chair and Stamp Lamp live on-site. Both products where used to instantly furnish the pop-up on-site restaurant, Spring Table.


 MOST:  Trumpf. Souvenir Mini Stamp Chairs where given to visitors as well as 400 free Stamp Lights, directly off the production line on a first come basis, on the last day of the show. Also golden tickets could be won for a few prototype Stamp Chairs.


 
MOST: Spring Table.  Photographed in the Sala del Cenacolo, Stevie Parle set up the pop-up restaurant Spring Table. Parle is Head Chef and runs the critically acclaimed Dock Kitchen, a part of Portobello Dock and the home of Tom Dixon, London. 



MOST: Spring Table. The pop-up restaurant was connected by Nokia, and a Nokia phone featuring the menu was placed at each table setting.



  MOST: Spring Table. Stevie Parle’s Red Mullet with Green Goddess Sauce, Monk’s Beard Lentils and Herbs.

MOST: Spring Table. Chef Stevie Parle’s second and latest cookbook, ‘Dock Kitchen Cookbook’ was on sale; he also has a weekly column in the Saturday Telegraph newspaper.
