2016 – Vitra. As part of the Fuorisalone Vitra installed CasaVitra, a temporary
installation and a pop-up store in the
city center and a spatial installation dedicated to color.
CasaVitra. The lounge on the second
level of CasaVitra was furnished with products from the Vitra Home Collection,
providing an inviting space where visitors can linger and enjoy the atmosphere.
CasaVitra. The color installation was dedicated
to the Vitra Color and Material Library, presenting Hella Jongerius’ insights
and inspirations about colors, textiles and materials. A comprehensive new
publication on the Dutch designer’s work as Art Director for Colors and
Materials at Vitra also had its debut in Milan. The book ‘I Don’t Have a
Favourite Colour’ documents her decade-long efforts to establish the Vitra
Colour and Material Library.
Above. The Color Spa.
‘My fascination with color emerges
from its enigmatic, inscrutable quality. Color binds together a range of
important topics in life: the aesthetic value in art, the scientific research
into our human perception, the philosophical questions on the words we use to
address colors, the social and cultural relevance of color in our society. All
these subjects are connected to our everyday experience of seeing the world in
color.’
