New York - May 16th – Greenpointworks. Sam Bargets is one of two designers at Greenpointworks. He was showing their classic Acapulco chair, which is hand made in Brooklyn, directly from a truck in the Meatpacking District.
The Acapulco chair. The classic Acapulco chair was designed in the 1950s in the Mexican beach town. While the chair is prolific in Mexico and exists in many different shapes and sizes, it’s original designer is unknown. “A couple of years ago we found some great ones on a trip to Mexico and shipped them home to Brooklyn. Everyone was so delighted by these excellent chairs that we decided to build them ourselves here in Greenpoint.” Sam explained.
