Russian artists based in New York, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov’s installation entitled Manas consists of a series of models of mountains observatories ostensibly designed to collect cosmic energy, special dreams, views of alien civilizations, etc. Like most of the Kabakovs’ sculptural tableaux, the work has a pleasing tone of Russian absurdist literature.
