NYC OCTOBER - WEDNESDAY
The Empire State Building on a rainy day. Yesterday was so wet, cold, miserable, windy and damp that I was not inspired for my blog. It was a day to go to the movies or read a good book. So, the best I can do is to lazily "send" you a photo of the Empire State Building, taken from our window, with the mast up in the clouds. The mast, high up at 1,454 feet is now a TV tower, originally it was a mooring for dirigibles, or airships, which in the 1930s were considered to be the future of air travel. And, talking of movies, here is a list of a few of the many films shot on location at this famous New York landmark, how many do you remember? An Affair to Remember - Annie Hall -Auntie Mame - Bright Lights, Big City - Champion - Charlie Chan of Broadway -Daddy Long Legs - Detective Story - Easter Parade - FBI Story - French Connection I - Funny Face - Guys & Dolls - Independence Day - King Kong - Klute - Kramer vs. Kramer - New York Confidential - New York, New York - New York Stories - North By Northwest - On the Waterfront - Serpico - Shaft - Superman II- Taxi Driver - When Harry Met Sally.
PS. The sun is shining today......
