FASHION FOOD AND FLOWERS

Armani “flowers”. Armani’s gipsy floral fantasies. The designer returns to an ethnic theme, fusing cultures in an eclectic but thoroughly contemporary mix. The mood is relaxed, demanding flat shoes and the proportions lengthen, as skirts flow around the figure, trousers are sometimes narrow and sometimes wide.

Celebrity. The simpatica actress and TV personality, Michelle Hunziker, blows a kiss to the paparazzi. She is currently co-hosting Striscia la Notizia with Ezio Greggio.

Food. In the Vip lounge the champagne flows. On the small coffee tables, mini sweet and salty cookies are laid out. The whole of the Teatro Armani complex, restaurant, et al, in Via Bergognone, is catered by Teatro 7.

MILAN - RTW S/S 2008

On the Armani runway. After the Giorgio Armani fashion show, it is customary for Mr. Armani to pose with all the models for the photographers. It is here that he receives and is photographed with the celebrities, who watched the show from the front row. The Spring Summer collection, entitled South was inspired by the slow mood of the languid southern Italian summer. A gentle and relaxed sense of time and a yearning for a life more closely tied to the rhythms of nature; fierce light and deep shadows that alter the intensity of colors, reviving beige putty, earth grey and transforming blue into lava black, with the dark green palms, stylized and enlarged to create abstract patterns and geometric motifs.

VIP lounge - Giorgio Armani. Two times Oscar nominated director, producer and writer Spike Lee. Lee was in town meeting with the Maestro for talks about costume design for the film he’ll be shooting soon in Tuscany. The film will be called, Miracle At Saint Anna.

VIP lounge - Giorgio Armani. Actress, Anna Kanakis who latest film is called La Terza Verita or The Third Truth is wearing a Giorgio Armani men’s smoking suit. “I like the ambiguous look; it’s very Julie Andrews in Victor Victoria. That was my mood today.” She explained.

MILAN FASHION WEEK

MONDAY EVENING – The Giorgio Armani exhibition at the Triennale. I’m so sorry that my photograph does not do justice to this beautiful exhibition. The exhibition is even better that the first Guggenheim Armani show six years ago in New York. Exhibition designer, Robert Wilson has outdone himself. And, so has Giorgio Armani. Beautifully lit total black rooms after room of six hundred gorgeous dresses are exhibited in the Triennale. And, when you think you have had enough of black, suddenly you reach a white room. A pure treat. I’m particularly happy because I have two jackets and a pair of shorts in the show, they have returned home after the world tour.

MONDAY – Giorgio Armani Fashion Fall/Winter 2007/2008 Show. This is the ritual photograph after any Giorgio Armani fashion show, the maestro himself and his models. This picture comes before any interviews or any photographs of Mr. Armani and his celebrities. Bubble, Bubble, Bubble skirts was the message this season and no trousers on the runway, as well as, flat shoes and bare legs. Another Armani classic collection.

Tina Turner was one of guests of honor “I have been wearing Armani since the 70’s. It works for me. And, I support everything he does.” She told me.
