Alcova + Alcova Sassetti
Alcova is a
platform for independent design developed by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt. Currently operating as an itinerant network
of exhibition spaces across multiple sites in and around Milan, it activates
forgotten locations of historical significance, temporarily recasting them as
venues for performative activities. Alcova
was located north of Loreto in the former panettone factory
of Giovanni Cova and Co., Alcova Sassetti, organised in
collaboration with Alice Stori
Liechtenstein and Fondazione Kenta, was activated in a former cashmere
factory in Isola, perfectly
preserved in its original condition since the 1930s.

Alcova – Faust Presents Bibliotherapy by Orso
Curated – Gianluigi Ricuperati
Collaboration - Roberto Maria Clemente -
Maria Strackhsini - Enrico Donalisio - Giulia Nomis - Fabio Lacertosa – ORSO
Faust presents
a rumor about a rumor with Orso Laboratorio Caffe, in a small technical office,
it staged a symbolic exchange between symptom and care, story and talisman,
subject and object. Visitors choose from six mental environments – and – Dr.
Faust cured them – confirming them as in a mirror: a ritual based on very
special coffee and fundamental pages of contemporary authors.
“Healing with books? Some swear it
works.”

Faust Presents Bibliotherapy by Orso
Two typewriters
by Ettore Sottsass typed volatile and curative tickets that bystanders could
take with them. Each session was accompanied by a single-origin brewed coffee
by Orso, offering each First Aid ‘patient’ of the Bibliophile of Alcova the
experience of caring for the garden of the mind with the natural drink of
ideas.

Product Designer – Christophe Machet
The Pipeline
Project is a machine designed to craft a collection of furniture from giant PVC
pipes, a low-priced yet incredibly strong and durable material. The worldwide
availability of PVC pipes allows for production to happen anywhere, limiting
transport and therefore encouraging a more localised manufacturing.
