'Milan rediscovers historic heritage
A palace of unprecedented beauty, skilfully restored
to its original state...'
Palazzo Francesco Turati – The Dutch in Milano. The Dutch Pavilion was
situated in the neo renaissance Palazzo Francesco Turati, which was built between 1873 and 1876 by architect
Enrico Combi, in walking distance of the Duomo. The pavilion functioned as a
close unity with two distinguished pillars; In the historic spaces of the palazzo, historic and contemporary design melted into a breath taking
exhibition by individual designers, where the paintings functioned as the
common thread. And, in the contemporary
spaces of the palazzo, Dutch companies and top designers presented artisanal
craftsmanship and fine design.
