Venice:
Palazzo Badoer – Day One: MISA Conference. Earlier this year MISA was
officially founded. MISA is the Italian Association for Fashion Studies and its mission is to promote
the recognition of fashion as a study and as a strategic sector in the context
of cultural policies. A platform at the
confluence of different points of view on fashion: historical, planning, sociological,
semiotic, anthropological, historical, artistic, philosophical, psychological,
literary, economic, visual culture, and cultural studies. It wants to reflect a
plurality of voices: different types of expertise, different methodologies,
different professions and attidudes are brought together in order to create a
network of interrelated and coperative resereach projects relevant both in
Italy and abroad.

MISA Confernce
– the round table. The
theme of the first MISA conference:
Training and education
as permanent objectives, involving
teachers, students, scholars,
designers, producers, designers, photographers, editors. To each of these production choices corresponds to a specific
form of creativity, and training capacity. Those of teaching and of
learning are complementary
positions. For this reason it is
important to activate a platform
that will bring out the voices
of the different organizations involved
in Italy today in the "trend"
at all levels. The discussion was chaired by jounalist
Angelo Flaccavento.
