Through this dog sculpture Tearose’s Alessandra Rovati Vitali states what she has been preaching for years; the importance of preserving the city’s green, by disseminating the philosophy of respect, balance and valorization of the atmosphere that surrounds us.

The chair opens up like a valve in a shell, a maritime reference emphasized by the tight series of ribs that break its profile. These grooves are not only artifices, but functional features whose purpose is to make the structure more robust.

Galleria Antonia Jannone – Aldo Cibic – Pocket Landscapes.
A small exhibition of drawings and installations called Pocket Landscape by Aldo Cibic at the Galleria Antonia Jannone. “I have always been attracted to Nature that manifests its forces in unexpected contexts – when at the side of a road the asphalt cracks and is lifted by a tuft of grass, or in some long-abandoned plaza one can see the grid of cement slabs retraced in moss and weeds, or even when any pavement meets a vertical wall and small plants laboriously force themselves through the juncture sprouting leaves seeking light and life at any cost. It has also happened that I have found myself within contexts of deterioration where people, in an attempt to redeem the surrounding poverty and decline, have placed potted plants and flowers along their window sills in an attentive display of care; as if this gesture represented the last thin connection to the idea of a dignified ambient condition.” Aldo explains his inspirations for the poetic show.

Paris: WARHOL- Le Grand Monde d'Andy Warhol

all photographs courtesy Daniela Morera

Paris: at the Grand Palais – WARHOL Le Grand Monde d’Andy Warhol. At the Grand Palais, until July 13th, the exhibition – WARHOL Le Grand Monde d’Andy Warhol. This retrospective is a selection from the thousand or so portraits that Andy Warhol painted from the early 1960s onwards, the show is presented by themes focusing on the key points in Warhol’s work: Self Portraits, Screen Tests, Mao, Dollars, Disasters, The Last Supper…
Many of these paintings have become “icons” and they have never been shown in a single-artist exhibition before. With the aim of recreating the effect of the principle of repetition which Warhol had in mind when he painted them, the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais is presenting, for the first time, this large set of paintings which constitutes an unprecedented archive in the history of painting and photography.
"All my portraits have to be the same size, so they’ll all fit together and make one big painting called Portraits of Society. That’s a good idea, isn’t it? Maybe The Metropolitan Museum would want it someday.”
Andy stated.

The Star of the show.
Journalist, Daniela Morera, a great friend of Andy Warhol poses in front of a rare Andy Warhol painting which depicts Daniela's bare back. Daniela says “ They treated me like a diva, setting TV and newspaper interviews and starting with a big suite at the Hilton Hotel, Arc de Triomphe, where the chef concierge Tony Le Goff took care of me, as if I was a princess. The show Le Grand Monde d’Andy Warhol at the Grand Palais is on for four months until July 13th. It is absolutely impressive, a must see.”

The Pre-Preview.
Bernard Arnault walks round the exhibition with Karl Lagerfeld. The show was sponsored by LVMH. At the pre-preview a small group of people viewed the exhibition including Empress Farah Diba, Mme Chirac and Daniela Morera, who was the only collaborator-friend of Andy’s present. Daniela was represented in the show by two very unique portraits of her back chosen by the curator, Alain Cueff from The Andy Warhol Museum.

The fabrics are luxurious: cashmere, alpaca, pure camelhair, wool jersey, occasionally smoldering with sequins in tonal colors. The colors are classic: tobacco, beige, pewter grey and black.

Etro Women’s Autumn/Winter 2009/2010 Collection. Etro’s Autumn/Winter collection is an ode to the Italian fashion house’s venerable heritage. With notions of recycling and re-use top of mind, Veronica Etro has sourced patterns, fabrics and techniques from its vast archives, reinterpreting them in a completely new and unusual way. A fresh Byzantine undercurrent plays throughout the collection, allowing for richly worked textures and superficial pattern to emerge.
