La Galleria Palazzo Cini
Adrian Ghenie – The Battle between Carnival and Feast
The first solo exhibition in Italy of works by Adrian Ghenie, The Battle between Carnival and Feast, presented in dialogue with the rooms of the La Galleria Palazzo Cini, are on show until November 18. Following major exhibitions in Europe and the USA, and the artist's participation in the Venice Art Biennale in 2015 representing Romania, Ghenie exhibits a series of nine stunning paintings, some on show for the first time, inspired by the history of Venice, but always linked to the more controversial, darker issues of today’s world.

“The paintings of Adrian Ghenie break into the arena of contemporary art as an unexpected, unstoppable, polymorphous presence.”

The Internet is undeniably a source of my practice. But that was only natural. I don’t think we’ll get the better of it, no matter how hard we might try. […] To a certain extent, any critical discussion is almost meaningless. The Internet is here to stay; it has changed the world more profoundly than many other things.
