Venice: Gallerie dell’Accademia - New Wing opening

 
Venice:  Gallerie dell’Accademia - New Wing opening. The opening of the first five rooms of the new wing, on the ground floor, of the Galleria dell’Accademia, sponsored by by Samsung and Venetian Heritage.  With highly advanced technology, thanks to Samsung’s involvement, visitors can enjoy Venetian art of the seventeenth and eighteenth century with the simple touch of a tablet or phone.

Gallerie dell’Accademia - New Wing - Tablets. Visitors to the gallery are provided with a tablet featuring macro-images, X-rays and a detailed provenance of the paintings enabling them upon close examination to discern otherwise imperceptible pictorial details and facilitate their appreciation of the artwork.




Gallerie dell’Accademia - Monastery of the Canonici Lateranensi, built by Andrea Palladio, which will house Antonio Canova sculptures.
