Spazio Rossana Orlandi – 1616/Arita Japan. 2016/ is a new brand producing contemporary porcelain objects for the home. 2016/ puts together the porcelain making skills of potteries in Arita, Japan with the talents of 16 international designers. The project is a collaboration between Saga prefecture in Japan and The Netherlands. In past centuries, The Netherlands has been a significant importer of Arita porcelain. Today, this unique and longstanding relationship has provided an important inspiration for reviving Aritayaki. Together, creative directors Teruhiro Yanagihara and Scholten and Baijings are leading a venture that incorporates the efforts of ten manufacturing companies and seven trading companies from Arita with 16 international designers.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi – Enrico Marone Cinzano  - Armadillo cabinet de curiosites – glass, recycled polished steel and recovered black rubber – 2015.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi – Enrico Marone Cinzano.  As always with Marone Cinzano’s pieces, the “Armadillo” credenza is manufactured locally using recovered materials and traditional techniques. Encased in glass, “Armadillo” evokes “cabinet de curiosites”. The recycled polished steel and recovered black rubber used in the framing along with up-cycled wheels and steel mesh of the accordion mechanism suggest a modern interpretation of bio mimicry. True to the designer’s work, sustainability is brought about in a surprising and unconventional way.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi – Callico Wallpaper – BCXSY.  Calico Wallpaper has partnered with Amsterdam-based BCXSY to create Inverted Spaces, a new wallpaper concept inspired by archival NASA imagery. Inverted Spaces is a panoramic, immersive experience that is an exploration of celestial spaces, both imagined and real.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi – Piet Hein Eek. “This year we are presenting in the shop on the top floor at Rossana’s. We never really know what will be waiting for us when we arrive in Milan, but it always feels like coming home. It’s quite possibly the ideal location for the presentation this year, because this time, instead of showing a large number of big monumental objects, we’re presenting a lot of small products. In part these are the products that we have developed for our own collection, but we will also be showing a number of products that I designed for other brands: spectacles for EyeWear, clocks and watches for LEFF Amsterdam, printed stools and – literally hot off the press – Black Bricks Wallpaper and Burnt Wood Wallpaper for NLXL.” Piet Hein Eek.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi – Anotherview – Marco Tabasso, Robert Anderiessen and Tatiana Uzlova. Anotherview is an ongoing project that takes place between interior design and conceptual art.  The premise of the project is that a real window is given the ability to have a completely different view then what you’d expect.  While you are in gloomy, rainy day you could choose to see a beautiful beach in the summer or alternatively a stunning winter landscape in May.
