Venice 71: Film Festival – Le Dernier Coup de Marteau - Alix Delaporte. Le Dernier Coup de Marteau directed by Alix Delaporte stars Romain Paul, Clotilde Hesme, Gregory Gadebois, Candela Pena and Tristan Ulloa.  When he first enters the Montpellier Opera House, Victor knows nothing about music. Nor does he know his father, Samuel Rovinski, who is there to conduct Mahler’s 6th Symphony. To change the course of his suddenly uncertain future, for Nadia his mother, for Luna whom he has fallen in love with, Victor has decided to step out of the shadows. He’ll go as far as he needs to.

Le Dernier Coup de Marteau.   Director Alix Delaporte explains, “In my films, there aren’t many words. That isn’t a goal I set myself, it just happens that way. It’s not a matter of silence but rather of a virgin terrain. Just like Victor on the verge of turning 14. With him, I wanted to feel the absence of a father and the fear of losing a mother. To discover classical music with him and immerse him in an orchestra in the midst of rehearsals. And what mattered to me most of all was bringing this boy to experience his first artistic emotion.”
