Treviso: Modesign/Fashion at IUAV 2014 - talks, exhibitions, events, food design and fashion shows



Treviso: Modesign/Fashion at IUAV 2014 - talks, exhibitions, events, food design and fashion shows.  For the second year running the spotlight on fashion and design in Treviso with Modesign/Fashion at IUAV 2014, took place from July 2 to 4 around the city’s historic center, with talks, events, exhibitions, food design and fashion shows.
Day One: The Auditorium of the Museo di Santa Caterina - North East / Far East Exhibition.  The opening of the exhibition North East / Far East, until July 12, which was curated by two students, Ilaria Cipriani and Marta Franceschini.    The exhibition features clothes made ​​by the BA students with precious fabrics sent by the textile district of Ichinomiya (in Japan) with which IUAV has worked with for some time. Each student designs an outfit submitted to a Japanese jury and each year the two students selected win a trip to Japan.

Newcomers # 1 – OVS – Michele Cadelano. A city tour that features the thesis projects of young graduate students in window displays and galleries around the center of Treviso.  

 
 Fashion at IUAV 2014 – Talks # 1 - La Felicità del Made in Italy.  The talks this year were conducted by fashion journalist celebrity Giusi Ferre.  Discussing on the theme of The Happiness of Made in Italy, a reflection between fashion, business and local authorities; Sergio Tamborini of Marzotto Goup, Bonotto’s Giovanni Bonotto and Lanificio Paoletti’s Paolo Paoletti partner of the research project financed by the Fondo Sociale Europeo Veneto (FSE).

Fashion at IUAV 2014 – The Cloisters of the Museo di Santa Caterina - Storytelling Storymaking Installation. The installation, until July 12, is based on the first outcomes of the research project, curated by Martina Bernardi and financed by the Fondo Sociale Europeo Veneto (FSE) at the woolen mill Lanificio Paoletti.    The workshop, which comprised of both BA and MA students, was an attempt to revive the corporate archives of the mill, to reflect on its identity and its future.
