NYC 2013 – Jacob K. Javits Convention Center – ICFF – “public Spaces”

NYC 2013 – Jacob K. Javits Convention Center – ICFF – “public Spaces”.  For a change, after the Salone del Mobile in Milan, at the ICFF, International Contemporary Furniture Fair, I picked a few pieces of design suitable for “public spaces”.

ICFF: “Public Spaces” – Emeco.  The Parrish Side Chair was designed by Konstantin Grcic, 2013, for the Parrish Art Museum in New York.  The modest museum building holds an internal complexity just like the Parrish Collection, subtle design combined with a heartfelt technical core.

ICFF: “Public Spaces” – Anne Kyyro Quinn. Anne Kyyro Quinn designs acoustic wall coverings. Resembling artworks more than conventional fabrics, her sculptural approach has pioneered a new genre of interior textiles based on three-dimensional structure rather than smooth surface ornamentation. The designs are inspired by organic shapes and expressed with Scandinavian simplicity.  The bespoke textile services for residential or contract projects, works with architects, contractors and interior designers to create tailor-made pieces for a wide range of interior settings.

ICFF: “Public Spaces” – Gaia and Gino. Gaia and Gino’s design entrepreneur Gaye Cervikal is photographed with the Fusion Rechargeable Led Table Lamps designed by Noe Duchaufour Lawrance in blown glass with copper, stainless steel and brass.  The lamps are suitable for public spaces like restaurants and museums.
