Milan: FF 2013
– Antonio Marras – Carpets and wallpaper. At the Circolo Marras, eclectic designer Antonio Marras presented a unique range of
Sardinian carpets and wallpapers called We walked
lightly on the land, from rugs to walls.
In the rugs collection, made in
collaboration with Bentu Italia, traditional motifs were reinterpreted in a
pattern of blocks and mirrors, in which one basic element, repeated, mirrored,
reflected, created an infinite universe. As the collection’s title suggests,
these woven pieces are somewhere “between rugs and walls” because they can be
used in many different ways.

The wallpapers by Walland Deco also reflected Antonio Marras' out of the ordinary creativity. They
don’t take a background role, they’re an active, integrating part of the house
they live in. Stefania
Beltrame’s design and Paolo Bazzani’s powerful display layout turn them into
dynamic elements evocative worlds of flowers and gardens.

Memories of old ruled or squared exercise books,
horizontal and vertical lines, giant flowers rising from the floor, the patter
of drops that chase each other in a gentle game of dark and shadow, running
after each other in a rhythmic movement, a hypnotic, bewitching dance.
