Milan:  Fashion Week – Marni S/S 2013.   Firmness. Sparseness as elegance.  The new Marni S/S 2013 collection is a weightless exploration of volume.  Form is reduced to its pure essence, laid bare to expose the precision of the cut and beauty of the fabric.

Marni S/S 2013.   A-line, trapeze and to the knee. Pleats and peplums create sensuous additions on tops and skirts.

Marni S/S 2013.   Clothes stand away from the body, gently drawing moving contours around. Block flowers and simultaneous motif entertain the eye.

Marni S/S 2013 - Accessories # 1. Sunglasses are big and bold.

Marni S/S 2013 – hair. Once again Paul Hanlon creates a whimsy and deconstructed hair style, “It was inspired by the house model Alexia. It’s a “raw” pony tail twisted into a loose bun.”

Marni S/S 2013. Minimalist quality. Silhouettes are clean and sculpted.  The line is effortless yet compact.

Marni S/S 2013. Straight and round are juxtaposed just as the front and the back are: a square top is paired with a flared skirt.  Prints highlight and gently distort the neatness of the design.  Checks and sequences of sliced dots have the hypnotic rhythm of Anni Albers Bauhaus experiment.

Marni S/S 2013 – Make-up.  Tom Pecheux explains the make-up on camera. “It’s perfection like the clothes. Totally effortless and looks perfect with the Marni clothes.”

-->
Marni S/S 2013 – accessories # 2.  The jewelery is always bold at Marni this season, metal and wood create Bauhaus animal like shapes.

  Marni S/S 2013 – backstage.  Models are given wash painting T shirts from Rop van Mierlo’s Wild Animal  series for Marni.

Marni S/S 2013 – accessories # 3.  The sandals have a modernist feel.  Pointed open-toe sling backs with a metal wedge and wooden platform flats resemble architecture.

-->
Marni S/S 2013 – accessories # 4.  The handbag is either geometric weaves   of leather and pvc or precise and boxy in style with padlocks.
