Milan: Art – Federico Luger Gallery – Mattia Bosco Exhibition

Milano: ART – Federico Luger Gallery – Mattia Bosco Exhibition. At the Federico LugerGallery, until October 16 a new series of works on stone, by Mattia Bosco whose artistic practice enters in relation with the elementary geometric forms typical of the minimalist tradition; combining them with the work of nature and time.  The sculptural works are born from the observation of the stones he finds and from the selection of those which have been better affected by time and chance. Then, Bosco intervenes on the stone, after having picked it up from the place of encounter, in such a way that the natural part, and the elaborated one coexist in one image, in which each one draws its expressive strength from the other, defining itself by virtue of the contrast.
Above: Mattia Bosco's Floor Sculpture and on the wall a work by Gianni Pettena called Breathing Architecture, 1999, site specific inside wall installation at the Federico Luger Gallery.

Federico Luger Gallery – a detail.  A detail of Gianni Pettena’s Breathing Architecture, 1999, site specific inside wall installation at the Federico Luger Gallery.   Together with Archizoom, Superstudio and UFO, Gianni Pettena belongs to the original nucleus of the Radical Architecture movement in Italy. Over the years the choice to dedicate himself to a limited number of ‘real’ projects demonstrates how, for Pettena, architecture is not restricted to the event of construction but is part of a greater research, centered on the relationship with the environmental context, with space and with the quality and nature of the materials, a means to verify continually the multiplicity of possible meanings that the architectonic discipline can assume.
