Venice: Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation. The annual gala fund raising dinner and lottery of the members of The Venice International Foundation gathered once again in the gardens of Ca Rezzonico.

The administrative council of The Venice International Foundation, Francesco Molinari, Gabriella Belli, director of all the museums of the Musei Civici di Venezia, the president, the driving force and  the soul of The Venice Foundation Franca Coin, Flavia Faccioli, Guido Venturini and Giustina Destro, hand two big cheques to Daniela Ferretti, director of Palazzo Fortuny for the Missione Fortuny, the conservation and restoration of works by Mariano Fortuny housed in the museum itself.

Missione Fortuny HELP!!!  Just a couple of the works that need urgent restoration and preservation; The Bayreuth Theatre model and the Theatre Drawings album. Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner. Actor, author and director  Marco Paolini is the winner of the coveted Premio Cotisso Venice Foundation 2012 prize, Franca Coin and Michela Signori.

 
Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner.  A vintage gondola is on display on the ground floor of Ca' Rezzonico, the palazzo houses a museum of 18th century Italian paintings and Venetian decorative art.

Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner. A hunky pure block of glass is the Premio Cotisso Venice Foundation trophy kindly donated by glass expert and designer Giordana Naccari. This year it was assigned to actor, author and director Marco Paolini

 
Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner - The Marco Paolini monologue.  Marco Paolini is the recipient of the Premio Cotisso Venice Foundation 2012 prize.  He is an Italian stage actor, theater director, dramaturge and author. His performances usually consist of monologues with frequent use of the Venetian language, irony and satire. Inspired by Dario Fo he is an Italian exponent of narrative theatre.

Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner - the table setting.  Each centerpiece is a hand-made Venetian landmark, like the Rialto Bridge, made in the artisanal workshop of Signor Blum in the heart of Venice. The wood is cut following the drawing's shape from a single wood panel.

Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner – The Lottery. A lottery was held during the dinner.  Prizes were generously donated by friends and member of The Venice International Foundation.


Michela Aliata di Montereale won a cashmere blanket.


Ca Rezzonico – The Venice International Foundation dinner – The Lottery. Cesare Verona of the Aurora Pen Company donated a beautiful fountain pen which was won by Marino Folin.
Above – detail.  The “tools” of the family business, Cesare Verona’s buttonhole is the gold nib of a fountain pen and he sports a gold pen as a tie clip, although his actual Marinella pink tie is placed in his jacket pocket.
