Milano: The Vogue Talents Corner. The second edition of The Vogue Talents Corner, a project aimed at promoting new international talent through e-commerce. An innovative itinerary to uncover eleven designers carefully selected from all over the world by Vogue Italia and The Corner.com. The designers showcased their apparel, accessories and jewelry collections during a prominent and high profile appointment through Milan fashion week at Palazzo Morando.

The Vogue Talents Corner – Shourouk. A true Parisian from Tunisian descent, Shourouk Rhaiem graduated from Studio Bercot before honing her techniques within prestigious fashion houses like Chloe, Galliano and Roberto Cavalli and establishing her eponymous company in 2007.  Since then, her work has shifted from romantic designs to an edgy assortment of contemporary accessories featuring bold splashes of color and ornate details.   With references ranging from Frida Kahlo to traditional high jewelry, Shourouk daringly plays with progressive embellishments and shakes up the code of haute couture with her technicolor world.

The Vogue Talents Corner – C.B. Made in Italy.  C.B. Made in Italy was founded in 2010 in Milan by Cecilia Bringheli, with the goal of producing the best handmade, durable shoes for men and women, with a focus on leather and suede slippers. Moccasins, ankle boots and boots.  Produced in a small factory in Northern Italy, each shoe boasts a great attention to detail in the pure Made in Italy tradition.  C.B. shoes are season less, perfect in every situation.

The Vogue Talents Corner  - Leitmotiv. Fabio Sasso and Juan Caro, the duo behind Leitmotiv, met in Bologna upon completing their respective studies in art history and painting.  While Fabio artfully mixes the sartorial and the baroque, Juan’s heart lies with all things gothic. These two very individual approaches, coupled with sophisticated research techniques, are the driving force behind the brand’s distinctive aesthetics and fantastical prints used throughout the collections. The have been awarded the Fashion Incubator prize, 2008 and won Who Is On Next in 2009.

The Vogue Talents Corner – Joanne Stoker.  Graduating from the prestigious Cordwainers College in 2009 with a Masters in Footwear Design, Joanne won many awards before completing a mentorship with Jimmy Choo and establishing her own luxury label last year.   Her aesthetics is inspired by her time spent exploring the scales and dynamics of revolutionary construction work.  Joanne describes her styles as “architectural innovation meet futuristic glamour”.   With each exquisite component and leather individually selected from the finest and most highly skilled Italian craftsmen, the shoes are carefully constructed and mastered into unique individually designed couture high heels.

The Vogue Talents Corner – Benedetta Bruzziches. Benedetta Bruzziches was born in Caprarola, Italy in 1985.  From a young age, she started transforming trivial objects into creative accessories while exploring her passion for all things vintage and scouring markets and fairs.  Upon graduating from Rome’s Design Institute, she went on to work for Romeo Gigli in Milan as the designer’s personal assistant.  This formative experience was then followed by a series of travels that took Benedetta from China to Africa; it was when she finally returned to Italy that she launched her first collection fro Spring/Summer 2010.

The Vogue Talents Corner – Hexa by Kuho.  The Hexa by Kuho collection, introduced in 2010, is designed by Korean born Kuho Jung.  A graduate of the Parsons School of Design, where he studied Industrial Design, Kuho Jung has since gone on to a wide range of professional endeavors, establishing himself in Korea as not only a fashion designer, but a creative director for films, art exhibitions, and performance art.   Having acted as the Creative Director for the fashion division of Samsung since 1997, he continues to oversee numerous collections for the brand distributed in Korean and other Asian markets.  The Hexa by Kuho line results from his life-long fascination with fashion.

The Vogue Talents Corner - Ricostru. Guangzhou-based fashion designer Riko Manchit Au gradutated from Milan’s Instituto Marangoni before starting two brands in 2010, of which Ricostru (from the Italian word ricostruzione meaning reconstruction) is her ready to wear incarnation.  The band’s style can be defined as ‘luxurious basics’.  Made with respect for the environment and a low carbon footprint, the garments are comfortable to wear, rich in detail and quality; they are sophisticated and responsible, aimed at people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Vogue Talents Corner – Andrea Incontri. Born in Mantova in 1971, Andrea Incontri studied art and architecture in Milan before gaining some experience in interior and furnishing design.   Andrea Incontri’s AI_ project came to life in 2009; the brand captures the idea of lightness, strength and simplicity.  Basic shapes and double stitched seams give extra sartorial value to multi-pocketed volumes.   Buffalo and calf leather, natural waxing and mat finishing refer to retro atmospheres, while volumes and proportions give a strongly modern dimension to the project.
