Majorca: Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation: Sokrates Space




Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation: Sokrates Space. The entrance to the Sokrates Space, which is hidden underground, in the Sculpture Park, is marked by this sculpture of Sokrates by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu, 2007 in Binissalem stone and marble and this surreal four bicycle piece.



Sokrates Space.  A view of the underground Sokrates Space where there are dialogues between ancient art like Nepalese and Tibetan objects or an extinct animal’s skeleton and contemporary works. 



 
 Sokrates Space. Crystal Curtain, 2007 made with Swarovski crystals by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu dialogues with Rinoceronte Lanudo, the woolly rhinoceros, a member of the Pleistocene mega-fauna that survived the glacial period 125,000 to 10,000 years ago in Siberia.

  Sculpture Park.  Leading to the underground Sokrates Space, hidden behind palm trees are the gigantic gold Barbie and Ken sculptures, by Jakober Vu, which have the same exact proportion and size as classical Greek sculptures.
