NEW YORK NEW YORK: two movies

Movies: opening in NY - L’Amour Fou. Fresh from winning the Critics Prize at the Toronto Film Festival and an official selection of the TriBeCa and San Francisco Film Festivals, following in the footsteps of The Last Emperor and The September Issue, L’Amour Fou by Pierre Thoretton opened in New York this morning.  The Yves Saint Laurent story is movingly told by Pierre Berge and well edited with clips from one of the greatest fashion designers of the twentieth century.

Movies: closing in NY – Bill Cunningham New York.  Bill Cunningham New York by Richard Press is a truly enjoyable film and should not be missed. The film chronicles The New York Times adorable eighty two year old photographer Bill Cunningham who is obsessively interested in the pictures he takes that document the way people dress on the streets of New York. As Anna Wintour says in the movie “ We all get dressed for Bill.”
